How We Work With International Suppliers

Global connections anytime, anywhere

We have to ensure a certain degree of supplier reliability as our recommendation carries with it our company’s reputation and good name. We work with a range of suppliers - big ones as well as small ones in different markets all over the world.

Before starting, you are well advised to go through the two links below first. They will open into a separate, new window so that you can always come back to this page -

Step 1 - Fill up our online “Supplier Registration Form” here .

Step 2 - We work professionally with our buyers and suppliers. Before we start sending our buyers to a supplier, we need to put in place a simple Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) to formalize the working arrangements between both parties . Print out a copy of the MOU from the link here .

Step 3 - Fill up the MOU with the relevant details. Once completed , send the MOU to us in PDF format. We will then fill up our part . When that is completed we will send back the completed MOU to the supplier. This will formalize the working arrangements between both parties.

Step 4 - Once the MOU is in place then we can start to bring our buyers to the supplier.

Step 5 - Every time we introduce a buyer to a supplier, we will include an acknowledgement form for the supplier to fill in.

This form contains the buyer's offer, data and specifications . We will also include a reference number for the supplier for verification purposes . The supplier will fill in the form , sign and stamp it and email it back to us (in PDF format) as a confirmation of receiving the offer from us.

Step 6 - The supplier will contact the buyer and start the negotiation process. Keep in mind that we are not involved in the negotiations between buyer and seller. Buyer will negotiate directly with supplier. Our main function is only to introduce the buyer to the seller. We can offer advice if and only when requested.

# 1  - Suppliers are not normally given exclusivity per buyer request . We do not encourage giving exclusivity to just one supplier as from earlier experience this practice will actually prompt the buyer to look for other suppliers himself/herself. Buyers rarely buy based on a single quotation from a single supplier. That is a FACT. The management side often views this practice suspiciously.

# 2  - How do we determine a supplier’s reliability?
New suppliers are usually given smaller projects to work on first as they build up their credibility in our network of suppliers. Going by track record alone is quite risky as we have learned through experience that track record can be manipulated quite easily. We will bring them smaller projects initially . The amounts will get progressively bigger as their credibility with us increases. Although this is a bit tedious we have found that this “trial-and-error” method is the most reliable way of evaluating our suppliers’ performance and reliability.

# 3  - This is optional but some buyers do contact us later on for advice especially when two or more suppliers (which we recommended earlier) give nearly equal offers in terms of price, quality and service.

Buyers are free to contact us for more info on the suppliers we have recommended to them. As we know our suppliers quite well we believe we are in the position to point out certain weaknesses or plus points of our suppliers. Infact we have managed to bring back to life a number of deals that were considered “dead” before because we were able to point out certain plus points of the affected suppliers. Thus it is very important for our suppliers to be honest to us about their business and their capabilities especially their strong points.
